All at Sea on the Ghost Ship (2006)
"Highly literate, stunningly evocative, often hilarious memoir of a lengthy voyage on a container ship made by an ageing, former bestselling author in search of a personal new horizon."
-Freighter Cruises
"Harbinson writes of such a captivating crew that it's hard to tear yourself away from any of his stories... He also writes with brutal honesty of others on board and his own emotions; while reading this book, I felt as if I was traveling right on board with Harbinson."

The
Writing Game (2005)
'A
graphic and detailed account of living a life and pursuing
a career fraught with the possibilities of artistic and
financial failure. Enhanced with superbly articulated
accounts of his dealings with editors, other authors,
and show business celebrities. The Writing Game is as
entertaining as it is engaging, and a 'must read' memoir
for anyone who contemplates embarking upon a professional
writing career for themselves.'
-Midwest Book Review
"I
suppose I should declare an interest for I worked in trade
publishing for many years during the period when it became
steadily more corporate, so I witnessed many of the changes
endured by Mr Harbinson from the other side of the desk.
But even for somebody without a background in the business,
his book is enthralling. His is an emotional life full
of ups and downs, triumphs and disasters. The book is
beautifully written and unflinchingly well-observed, and
the author is good company - brainy, likable, and also
vulnerable... Intercut with his personal story are well-chosen
examples of his work, many of which are so powerful that
one feels frustrated at being unable to read on. Why a
writer as skilful and as versatile as this is not an international
name is a mystery, and it's one that serves as a valuable
corrective for all those starting out on their writing
careers... A wonderful read."
-Nick Webb, former MD, Simon & Schuster.
"Allen
Harbinson is a consummate professional who knows the business
of writing better than most. He has seen highs and lows,
and his advice is the best you will find. The Writing
Game is a 'must read' for all aspiring writers and
for anyone interested in the business of writing. I was
the Sales Manager for Corgi Books in London in the late
1970s and every new Harbinson title was a guaranteed 30,000
seller in its first month of publication. Later, in the
early 1990s, I saw him write, under a nom de plume [Shaun
Clarke], nine novels in thirteen months. They were so
brilliant that one caused the British Secret Service to
consider issuing a D notice (which would have forbidden
publication) and another, on the Falklands war, was so
convincing that people thought he had been there. A third
was keenly read by IRA prisoners in the H Blocks... Harbinson
is a master"
-Alan Wherry, former Sales Director, Bloomsbury Publishing
"Lively,
engaging and informative... This is a fine work of biography
for the introspective generation."
-Readers' Review Magazine.

| Inception
(1994)
‘A great story, built up over a number of years,
about a man’s inhuman search for scientific perfection
and another’s search for him … The span of
the novel is immense, with this first novel in the trilogy
taking us from the turn of the century to 1946…
Inception is simply brilliant... a gripping thriller

| Revelation
(1982)

Dream
Maker (1992)
'With
Genesis and Revelation W.A.Harbinson proved
himself to be one of the most important writers of the
genre. Outstanding in every way, Dream Maker will
reinforce that position. Harbinson's novels are never
less than stupendous. I am in awe of this man.' -James
Herbert, author of Creed and Domain
'W.A.Harbinson
has reinvented the concept of the occult. An awesome,
original novel, brilliantly conceived and stunningly executed.
A startling, provocative, unputdownable fusion of science
fiction and the supernatural that grows in the mind long
after the pages are safely closed.' -Peter James,
author of Sweetheart and Twilight
'A gripping novel that springs straight from today's headlines.
Its characters are full-blooded and engaging, the plot
intense, the conclusion terrifying and sublime. Harbinson
is a terrific writer.' -Steven Spruill, author
of Painkiller and Before I Wake
'W.A.Harbinson is a combination of H.G.Wells and Frederick
Forsyth - audacious imagination combined with a precise
and convincing realism.' -Colin Wilson, author
of The Outsider and The Occult |

| The

Projekt
UFO: The Case For Man-Made Flying Saucers (1995)
'Projekt
UFO does a good job in describing the history and
development of the UFO phenomenon and of the known record
of military attempts to build a flying saucer… fascinating.'
-The Irish Times
'A
fascinating account of the history of UFOs, but from
the perspective of their being man-made, not extraterrestrial
craft… Forget ETs and invasions from space; the terrestrial
scenarios Harbinson speculates are already frightening
enough.' -Nexus
'For sheer content and quantity, this book must score
ten out of ten. It covers a multitude of topics including
biblical encounters, air ship scares, spinning discs,
World War Two sightings, UFO landings, UFOnauts and
much more. A very worthwhile addition to your stack
of bedtime reading material.' -Encounters

| Genesis
(Retrospective Review) 2005
'The
shocking brilliance of Genesis was rooted in
its blend of fact with real world historical characters,
shoehorned into prophetic fiction. I'd never read anything
quite like it The book was a too-close-for-comfort alternate
history, and as time went by has become a warning against
the kind of world which is currently being forged by those
who insist security means no privacy. Since its publication,
many authors have latched on to the man-made explanation
for UFOs. But no one else has used the theme as convincingly,
or with as much attention to verifiable detail.' -Nathan

| READERS’
WRITES
Following are some readers comments found on Amazon…
About Genesis…
THE touchstone for works in the UFO genre.
Rating 5/5
Having read this book almost a decade ago, I was recently
struck by the similarities between events in the book
to the popular TV show, The X-Files. I found my old paperback
copy of this book (now quite dog-eared) and re-read it.
What a ride! Harbinson has written a meticulous, spellbinding
– and absolutely credible – treatment of UFO
phenomena, the Men in Black, and government cover-up.
A must read for anyone interested in UFO conspiracy theories.
“Man must have a purpose” –
Aldridge (Wilson).
Rating 5/5
After reading this book twice now, I still feel that it
is one of the best books that I have ever read. It seems
to be a timeless book… Apart from the fact that
is a gripping book which you will find hard to put down,
I personally find it inspiring. There are several good
ideas presented within the context of those pages that
definitely merit a deeper look at. Don’t take my
word for it, however, look and decide for yourself. I
guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Should be an X-Files movie!
Rating: 5/5
Genesis is my favourite SCIFI novel and should
be an X-Files movie. It’s got it all, UFOs and government
conspiracy. I stumbled upon it on a friend’s bookshelf
in his vacation home and read it because there was nothing
else around and WOW. I ignored my poor wife and the rest
of the vacation because I couldn’t put it down.
It’s so well documented that when you finish the
book, you half-believe that it might not have been fiction.
I agree with earlier reviews that it’s hard to find.
I finally found one in a used bookstore. If you see one,
buy it. If you’ve read it, give it to a friend.
About Projekt Saucer, Book 1: Inception…
Rating 5/5
I absolutely love this book. Gripping and thoughtful.
Harbinson know his stuff.. anyone familiar with the Nazi
aeronautical industry of the Second World War won’t
be able to put it down. The second book boasts one of
the most fantastic feats of plotting I’ve ever seen.
He managed to get almost every single post WW2 documented
UFO sighting… and put it together into a coherent
and scary story… This guy not only did his research,
but writes a mean story, to boot.
About the Projekt Saucer series…
Greatest books about flying saucers
Rating 5/5
The amazing Projekt Saucer books are the most
fascinating ever written about flying saucers. The whole
story consists of five books: Book 1: Inception
(1991); Book 2: Phoenix (1995); Book 3: Genesis
(1980); Book 4: Millennium (1995); Book 5: Resurrection.
Just like George Lucas, Harbinson wrote Episode 3 first,
in 1980, and then the others…These five books, representing
about 3000 pages written over twenty years, are a must-read
for anyone interested in flying saucers.
